With more than 23 years of hands-on and strategic experience in interactive marketing and a background in traditional and interactive public relations and journalism, Tony Wright has spent his career helping companies of all sizes be profitable online. Wright is a search marketing geek. He also has extensive experience with online crisis communication and brand reputation strategy, most notably directing the online corporate reputation management strategy for American Airlines immediately following the events of September 11, 2001.
Wright serves as the driving force behind WrightIMC while also managing online media strategies, public relations, and other interactive marketing initiatives. He provides input into creative, technical, and strategic projects, ensuring that the vision of each interactive marketing program contributes to the overall campaign goals. Wright is a sought-after speaker at industry events, including SMX, Pubcon, Search Engine Strategies, etc. He writes widely-read and frequently cited articles, columns, and quotes for various national and trade publications. Wright currently contributes to the “Ask an SEO” column and an additional monthly column for the Search Engine Journal.
Wright has won many awards for his work, including the Excellence in Interactive Marketing Awards, the Katie Awards, US Search Awards, PRWeek awards, and many others.
Wright served as the Vice-President of the national Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization. He is a two-time president and founding member of the Dallas-Fort Worth Search Engine Marketing Association. Wright is a 2018 recipient of Outstanding Alumnus for Texas Tech University. He lives with his wife and four children in Allen, Texas.
