
Cmdr. William J. Marks is the U.S. Navy, Public Affairs Officer for the Defense Intelligence Agency. Previously, he served as Chief of Media for the U.S. Navy, directing the Navy’s engagement with national and international media. From 2011-2013 Marks was spokesperson and public affairs officer at the U.S. Naval Academy, leading teams focused on media relations, proactive external communication, web and social media, graphic design, publications and photography. In 2012 USNA was awarded the Thompson-Ravitz award for best community relations program. At the Defense Intelligence Agency he faces a new challenge: how to tell a compelling story about a community that has traditionally been silent.
