Listening For A Change: The New Frontier of Brand Strategy and Digital Engagement

This session spotlights an emerging marketing discipline built on community-building and direct engagement. Using Reddit, the world’s largest network of communities, as a test case, we’ll explore the new normal for digital discourse -- and what digital marketing and social media pros should know to master marketing, communication (and listening!) in the new era of digital communities. This session is for digital marketers who are interested in learning about new marketing disciplines and best practices for engagement, dialogue and community-building online. Newbies, lurkers and hard-core Reddit users are welcome! After this session, you’ll be able to:

• Understand the opportunity for brands and marketers who listen and build community
• Leverage the tension between consumer’s rejection of ads and love of brands
• Build a playbook for building community online (ideally on Reddit!)
